At Elpress, we prioritize delivering the highest standards of quality and safety in every product we offer. A reliable and approved crimp result is only achievable when Elpress terminals are used exclusively with certified Elpress tooling. The Elpress system is designed as an integrated solution, where the terminal, tool, and conductor work seamlessly together to meet rigorous safety standards such as IEC and UL.
When you choose a system, the supplier certifies the combination of connector, tool, and conductor according to applicable standards, including IEC 60228 for conductors and IEC 61238-1, IEC 61373, DIN V 40046, and SEN 24 50 10 for connectors. Failing to use a certified system leaves the end user solely responsible for the electrical and mechanical properties of the connection. It has recently come to our attention that certain manufacturers are promoting the use of their crimping tools with Elpress terminals, claiming it produces a compliant crimp.
We must strongly clarify that Elpress does not support or approve the use of non-Elpress tooling with our terminals. Using such uncertified combinations voids all our testing, certifications, and warranties, and leaves the responsibility solely on the user.
The consequences of using tools and connectors from different manufacturers can lead to unpredictable and unsafe installations, increasing the risk of failure or even fire in the worst-case scenario. Elpress cannot be held liable for installations where non-approved tooling is used. We urge all clients, partners, and installers to adhere strictly to System Elpress, ensuring the use of certified Elpress tooling for all electrical connections. This is the only way to guarantee the safety, reliability, and compliance of your installations.
