Elpress chosen for Secure Electrical Connections in US PV Project

Henrik Høj Rasmussen, Elpress’s Manager of Key Industry Renewable Energy, and the local US General Manager, Mike Nyhan, are key players in this collaboration. Expressing his enthusiasm, Rasmussen stated, “We are proud to contribute to the development of a greener future with solar power applications.”

Elpress is a key supplier for a 140-megawatt (MW) solar installation in US, that will be producing enough electricity annually to power
approximately 38,000 homes.

The solar park is expected to become operational in late 2024, and will be operating with Elpress electrical connectors.

The project developer has been responsible for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the complete project.
To ensure the highest standards of reliability and efficiency, they selected secure and tested crimping systems with tools and connectors from Elpress.

Elpress has provided a range of products to this project, consisting of advanced crimping tools and electrical connectors to support the project, all of which comply with the IEC 61238-1 standard, ensuring high-quality and secure connections:

• Bimetal connectors (Al/Cu): For connecting aluminum power cables to power stations.
• C-Sleeves/clamps: For connecting earthing cables and ground rods.
• PVX1300 Tool: For the crimping of the earthing/grounding system.
• PS710 Pump + DV250 Head: For crimping the Al/Cu connectors.

These products are part of Elpress’s tested system to secure safe connections.

The collaboration began in the summer of 2023 when a key individual, already familiar with Elpress’s high-quality products, recommended them after issues with a competitor brand arose. This endorsement led to a new cooperation between the two entities.

Key figures from the developer were actively involved in selecting the necessary parts from Elpress. Their choice was influenced by the quality, close cooperation, quick support, and integrity that Elpress is known for.
